GERST-PMN - German Studies (PhD Minor)

The department offers a Ph.D. Minor in German Studies. The requirement for the Ph.D. minor is completion of 25 units of graduate course work in German Studies classes. Interested students should consult the Director of Graduate Studies.

Per policy (GAP 4.5.1 Doctoral Degrees, Requirements), all of the coursework for a Ph.D. minor must be completed at Stanford.

Learning Outcomes from the Ph.D. Minor in German Studies may include a student’s deepening subject knowledge and how it relates to their own area of expertise; a broadening of perspectives that may lead to new insights and approaches; and improved interdisciplinary skills.
