Course Description
A survey of literatures and cultures of the French-speaking world. We will examine a variety of literary genres as we explore works from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Indian Ocean. Topics include: the politics of language, the making of literary classics, translation, world literature, decolonization, nationalism, internationalism, and postcolonialism. Taught in French.
