Course Description

Science isn't just in labs or on computer screens. From mountains, deserts, and forests to oceans, ice fields, and clouds, Stanford researchers work in a wide variety of locations, studying processes and phenomena where they happen. This course will give students the opportunity to engage with some of those researchers. You'll hear about different ways fieldwork is done, the questions being researched and what fieldwork means today. This course consists of a lecture by a different Doerr School of Sustainability researcher each week. There will also be up to 2-hours of readings, virtual field trips, or other associated activities outside of the class time each week. Open to all students.
