Course Description
This seminar is for students who are interesting in the future of sustainable mobility and to view that challenge through the historic lens of some of the world¿s greatest cars. Students will participate in discussions from a number of perspectives - engineering, aesthetic, historical impact, etc. to establish a set of criteria to evaluate an automobile. They will then use these to be a part of a judging team at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to decide the recipient of the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford (CARS) Award for Automotive Innovation, which is given to the car that they believe truly impacted the challenge of a sustainable future through excellence in technology and innovation. Students will have the opportunity to present the award on the lawn at Pebble Beach Lodge in August. The Pebble Beach event is the leading concours for automobiles in the United States.
