Course Description

For genetic counseling students, medical students, residents, and fellows. Students will learn principles of cytogenetic, molecular genetic and biochemical genetic testing approaches and techniques through lectures, discussions and practical, case-based assignments. Topics include utility of assays for diagnosing genetic conditions, role of clinical assessment in test selection, critical assessment of medical literature to interpret lab results and clinical features of genetic conditions commonly diagnosed through genetic testing.
