Virus and worm propagation dynamics and containment. Denial of service attacks. Intruder detection technologies. Distributed network attacks and countermeasures. Disaster recovery networks. Network protection services and resource placement. Autonomic self-defending networks. Economics of risk management. Emphasis is on analytics and quantitative methods.
