Course Description

VISITING: Open to visitors. TYPE OF CLERKSHIP: Selective 1. DESCRIPTION: Familiarizes students with the subspecialty of medical oncology through subspecialty patient care in clinics and tumor boards and attending the weekly conferences of the Division of Oncology. The experience draws heavily on and will expand skills in internal medicine, emphasizing differential diagnosis, physical examination, utilization of laboratory, X-ray, and imaging studies, as well as approaches to psycho-social problems for patients with suspected or established malignant disease. PREREQUISITES: MED 300A. PERIODS AVAILABLE: 1-12, full-time for 4 weeks. 2 students per period.
