Course Description
What is the purpose of philosophy? What is its method? What is its relationship to science? How does analytic philosophy differ from continental philosophy? The Dualist is the undergraduate organization for students interested in philosophy. Through book-club style conversations and speaker events, we will consider questions about the nature of philosophy and use these discussions to reflect on our philosophical education. The undergraduate leaders of the Dualist will also be a primary source for peer advice on philosophy classes at Stanford and the Philosophy department's undergraduate degree program. Prerequisite: one prior course in the philosophy department.
